community school
The profile of the ISH as a Community School implies first of all that we offer opportunities
to our students to make full use of their academic and extra-curricular talents and interests.
The following five components complete the profile:
-the concept of ‘education permanente’, which involves offering educational facilities ranging
from pre-school day-care to evening classesto students, parents and staff of our international
community
-the school as a centre for social, creative and athletic activities for the international families the
school serves -the school as the bridge between its international community and the Dutch host
community
-the school as a venue for professional activities for external stakeholders
-the notion, key in the IBO Learner Profile and core to our Community School ethos, that
education leads to responsible global citizenship. In both curricular and non-curricular activities
we aim to develop durable commitment to this all-important principle
