Since November 2011 the ISH started a cooperation with Haags Studiepunt in providing private homework guidance at school for students from the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
Homework guidance in a nutshell: during homework guidance students do their homework and improve their study skills in small groups (6 per tutor). We started off with a small group of students, but more and more parents and students have found their way towards Haags Studiepunt. At the moment we have students from all the years of the MYP. Although every single one of them started with a (healthy) feeling of reluctance, now most of them find that it is actually not that bad to be able to get help with your homework, ask your questions and enjoy a long evening at home free of homework!
The advantage of private homework guidance at school itself is then that contact with mentors, the learning support staff and year coordinators is easy and all staff is very helpful. We believe that this increases the chances of success for our students.
