Alexander Kruijsse - Class Rep. Coordinator

My name is Alexander Kruijsse and I am one of the two Class Rep Coordinators in the ISH Student Council ’11-’12. I am 17 years old and part German part Dutch. I have been a student at the ISH since year 6 and I am currently in my first year of the IBDP. I see the Student Council as an opportunity for myself to make a change in my school community and hope to help ISH students to voice their opinions and concerns with the school. I’m looking forward to a great year!

Bob van Rugge - Head Treasurer

Hi, my name is Bob van Rugge. I'm 16 years old and am currently in year 12. You have elected me as your Treasurer for the coming school year, and for that, thank you. I am Dutch,   however I have lived abroad for almost half of my life and therefore consider myself plenty international as well. As the Treasurer I will try to make sure that the money we have is spent as efficiently as possible so we can have as many parties and other events at the best quality possible. Other than this I will work together with the rest of the student council to make sure that everything in the school runs smoothly and to make school a nice place, despite the learning.

Sandra Smits - Chair

Hi, my name is Sandra Smits and this year’s Chair of the Student Council. I am currently 16 years old and in Year 12. I have a dual Thai/Dutch Nationality and this is my third year at the ISH. After being part of the Student Council last year and enjoying it so much I realised how important it is for me to be involved in the school community and making a difference. As Chair, its important that I listen to what the students and the rest of the Student Council have to say, and coordinate tasks and events in order for everything to run smoothly. I hope my leadership, dedication and enthusiasm will contribute towards a great year!

Rachael Kretsch - Head Cultural Coordinator

I am Rachael Kretsch the Head Cultural Coordinator of the 2011-2012 Student Council. I am in year 11 and am of American nationality. As the title indicates my main focus is the cultural aspect of our school. My goal is to increase the awareness of rich cultures and let us cherish our diversity. I aim to organize creative events which will highlight how international our school is and also incorporate culture into our everyday school life. I will also work together with the rest of the student council and make sure that all our cultures are taken into account when we organize events to make the events fun for all. I will bring my creativity and my caring attitude to the student council. I hope we will have a wonderful year!

Jocelijn Cavero Roeper – Deputy Cultural Coordinator

My name is Jocelijn Cavero Roeper and I am this year’s Deputy Cultural Coordinator. I am Peruvian and Dutch and have lived in the Netherlands for three years. I was born in Spain and I have also lived in Peru and China. I speak four languages (English, Dutch, Spanish and Chinese) and consider myself international. I am fourteen years old and in year 10. Although I may be the youngest of the Student Council, I think that I have great potential and will be able to provide the council with new ideas and a different perspective to activities organized. As a Deputy Cultural Coordinator I will give my full support to the Head Cultural Coordinator and the other members of the Student Council. I am looking forward to a multi-cultural school year!

Mateo Garcia - Head Events Coordinator

Hi, my name is Mateo Garcia. I am 16 years old  and I come from Colombia. I am currently in year 12 doing my first year of IBDP.  This is my 6th year here at ISH and I am Head Events Coordinator in the ISH Student Council ’11-’12. As Head Events Coordinator I am in charge of organizing parties and events for the students, working close to fellow student council members to make it a memorable year for everyone.

Gichuku Rugoiyo - Deputy Chair

My name is Gichuki Rugoiyo, I am 17 years old and in year 12. I come from Kenya and have been living in the Netherlands for the past nine years. I have been at the International School of the Hague since I was in year 4. I am the Deputy Chair and as such I have a lot of responsibilities that I previously did not have as PR last school year. What I want to achieve in the students through the Student Council is a sense of belonging, both for the students here at ISH and myself. Being part of a team that aims to make this school a more enjoyable place is always a pleasure, however when you have a role that is completely new to you and a brand new team, then it becomes a learning experience. This learning experience is what I want to have, and if in doing so I can help the ISH community, then it is a role if I feel obligated to try to fill. I support and aid the Chair in running the Student Council. I look forward through teamwork and cooperation from the council as a whole to have a good and productive year!

Charlotte Bunemann - Deputy Treasurer

Hi, my name is Charlotte Bunemann and I have been honored to be given the role of the Deputy Treasurer for the upcoming year. I am 15 years old and of German origin. Together with Bob, I will be taking care of the budgetary issues within the Student Council. We will be ensuring a transparent, ordered and effective usage of the funds. Furthermore I will help the Student Council with all other aspects concerning the school community, aiming to improve our School. In order for it to be the best, that it can be. I am sure with the great team that the Student Council is this year, this will be possible!.
