SPORTS

The Athletic & Physical Education Department at the International School of The Hague believes that a strong sports program, whether from a curricular or extra-curricular perspective, enables students to lead successful, active and healthy lifestyles.

Our sports program at ISH encompasses both competitive sports and non-competitive activities. Our facilities readily reflect our commitment to sport throughout the school. Our teams participate in a wide variety of sporting events both in The Netherlands and throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Sports days, house competitions and a very well structured extracurricular activities program ensures that all of our students have the opportunity to participate at their own level.  With lunch time and afterschool clubs currently running in volleyball, american football, cheerleading, tennis, field hockey, handball, basketball, badminton, football, dance, running, cricket, softball and yoga ensure maximum participation.

ISH is a member of the prestigious International Schools Sports Tournaments organization (ISST). We compete within competitive leagues across Europe and into the Middle East in a variety of sports at Varsity (U18) level. The sports and leagues we compete in are as follows:-

Varsity Boys Basketball - ISST Division II

Varsity Girls Basketball - ISST Division I

Varsity Girls Field Hockey - ISST Division I (1st Place, 2009)

Varsity Boys Football - ISST Division II

Varsity Girls Football - ISST Division II

Varsity Tennis - ISST Division III

Additionally, we are now competing within the ISST organization at Junior Varsity (U16) level and have teams for both boys and girls in football, basketball, volleyball, field hockey and tennis.

Furthermore, we are continually developing and expanding into the middle school (U14) sports arena with competitive and non-competitive teams in football, american football, basketball and badminton.
