After School Activities:
After School Activity classes are offered by ISH Staff and others in our community who have an interest in teaching our students.
The underlying philosophy is to provide an opportunity for children and staff to interact with one another in a non-academic environment, strengthening relations and offering exposure to new, exciting ideas and experiences. It is intended as a “taster” of a broad variety of hobby activities. If an activity appeals to a child after experiencing it, then they may pursue it outside of school on a continued basis.
Activities recently offered have included: Arts & Crafts, Football, Tennis, Karate, Capoeira Martial Arts, Yoga, Chess, Photography, Newspaper Club, Needlework and dance classes to name a few.
The sessions run for a 12 week period twice a year (Winter and Spring sessions) and are open to students from Years 1 to 6. Activity program details and registration forms are sent home with the children. The registration process works by a lottery system and children are limited to two activities per session. Some activities do have a cost component attached to them although many are free of charge.

A Declaration for working with children must be supplied by all community teachers prior to participation in the program.
After School Activities begin at 15:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and end at 16:15. On Wednesdays Activities begin at 12:30 and end at 13:45. Due to Mother Tongue language classes, Wednesday activities are only open to Upper School children and Thursday’s activities only to Lower School Children.
