Last summer Mr. Kirkland helped ISH students and Varsity Footballers Kevin Capelao, Lucas van Eynde and Iray Hamuli in trying to secure a position in an American College to play soccer. Between their parents and Mr. Kirkland's knowledge of the area, the boys attended two ID Soccer camps in California. Over a two week period the boys were assessed in the playing abilities. They were also guests of Mr. Kirkland's last Soccer Club, Carlsbad United and played in a match against a team from the Isle of Man, in which the boys all played a part in winning the game for the club. As of now these students are preparing for SAT's and further academic examinations, which are vital for their success.

They now intend to return this summer in the hope of finalizing a position with one of the many colleges now showing an interest. Both ISH and Mr. Kirkland would like to wish them all best in their endeavors.

There was a little news piece about the Secondary Sports Day last week. But all the pictures of the event came out so well, it seemed a shame not to share them in every way possible. So below please find a little video and a slideshow of all the pictures taken by Christel van Meeuwen on the day.
