Primary Office Manager (1.0 fte) Primary School

The International School of The Hague is a highly successful, innovative and energetic semi-public school located in a state-of-the-art building in an area of natural beauty on the edge of the city of The Hague, near Kijkduin.

The entire school currently has 1800 students and hosts over 85 nationalities with teachers from around the world. The school is divided into Primary and Secondary with a Principal for each section. The Principals, Vice-Principals, supported by the Business manager, comprise the Senior Leadership of the School.

The Primary school was established in 2003 and became the first school in the world to be accredited at “Mastering” level by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). We now have more than 650 pupils on roll.

Currently we have a vacancy for an:

Office Manager (Hoofd Administratie) to the Primary School (1,0 FTE)

Start date: 1 September 2017 or soon thereafter

Responsibilities:

  • Organising and monitoring the workflow of the Primary Office, in relation to ordering, absences, after school activities, etc.
  • Organising, maintaining data on data bases connected to the Primary School
  • Organising and preparing necessary documents and materials for the Primary School
  • Be a member of the communication team to support efficient internal and external communication
  • Act as the point of contact for external agencies, such a Leerplicht, and individuals
  • Maintaining contacts within the group of schools and with external agencies about general substantive aspects of pending issues
  • Drafting and circulating letters and other correspondence ensuring deadlines are met
  • Preparing, receiving and supervising visitors and delegations including hospitality arrangements
  • Assisting with the monitoring of HR matters regarding Primary staff

PA to Business Manager (0.8fte) Secondary School

Personal Assistant to the Business Manager (0.8 FTE)

Start date: 1 September 2017 or soon thereafter

Responsibilities:

  • Organising and monitoring the agenda and calendar of the Business Manager
  • Organising and preparing meetings including necessary documents and materials
  • Act as the first point of contact for external companies and individuals wishing to contact the Business Manage;
  • Arranging staff travel, registration for courses, credit card payments and verification of those payments to our Central Office
  • Minuting of meetings as and when requested by the Business Manager
  • Maintaining contacts within the Rijnlands Lyceum and with external companies
  • Drafting and circulating letters and other correspondence ensuring deadlines are met

  • Learning Support Specialist 1 Fte

The Learning Support Specialist will provide high-quality Learning support services to students experiencing learning difficulties in a wide range of areas, provide support and advice to parents, carers and the school. The Learning Support Specialist observes and supports the school’s endeavor to provide excellent teaching and learning for all students, contributes to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification, minimum HBO level, or an equivalent international qualification (must be recognized in the Netherlands).
  • Experience of working in a Learning Support Specialist role.

Part-time schoonmaker (0.3125 fte)

Organisatie:

The International School of The Hague heeft een doorlopend internationaal curriculum voor kinderen van 4 tot 18 jaar. Onze studenten zijn Engelstalig, de voertaal is dan ook Engels. The International school of The Hague is onderdeel van Stichting Het Rijnlands Lyceum. De stichting staat voor toonaangevend onderwijs. De Stichting verenigt zes scholen op algemene grondslagen en biedt Nederlands, tweetalig, Europees en internationaal onderwijs.

Wij zoeken met ingang van het nieuwe schooljaar (augustus 2017) een schoonmaker voor de middag/avonduren. De grondslag is bij wijze van proef met uitzicht op vast. Reguliere schoonmaaktijden zijn elke werkdag van 17.00-19.30 uur. U werkt in een team van ongeveer 14 personen welke wordt geleid door een floormanager. Indien nodig kan er tijdens schoolvakanties of in het weekend ook een beroep op u worden gedaan.

De werkzaamheden zijn:

  • Het dagelijks reinigen van de toiletten en aan-en bijvullen van toiletbenodigdheden;
  • Het beheren van de toiletbenodigdheden van de voorraad schoonmaakmiddelen;
  • Het reinigen van de vloeren met behulp van diverse apparatuur;
  • Het periodiek behandelen van de vloeren;
  • Het op aanwijzing reinigen van specifieke lokalen, zoals computeren en science lokalen;
  • Het periodiek reinigen van gordijnen en vitrages;
  • Het leegmaken van papier- en afvalbakken;
  • Het doorgeven van mankementen;
  • Het melden van storingen en defecten;

Communication Manager (1.0 fte) Whole School

Whole School Communications Manager (1.0 fte)

As part of the ongoing improvement process, the school is seeking to appoint a Communications Manager that will be a member of the PR, Marketing and Events team of the school. The position focuses on both internal and external communication and being part of a core team that works in collaboration with the other areas of the Administration team and the Academic faculty. The school recognizes the fact that the ever-changing and fast growing nature of communication needs a specific member of staff to oversee this element of school life.

The Communication Manager will report to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of the ISH in a weekly meeting and also work closely together with the PA’s of the Principals. A background in communications is essential. The person will lead the Communication Department at the school that will include at the moment an Events coordinator and Communication Officer. We are seeking a team player that will join the school at exciting times in its history. It is required that candidates are bilingual in both English and Dutch due to the structure of the school.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the lead point for the Communications department and hold regular meetings with the team with regards all events at the school
  • Assist in the strategic planning of communications at ISH with regards the overall mission and philosophy of the school
  • Develop and promote clear external communication channels and strategies to ensure the corrective narrative is represented in the communication to all stakeholders
  • Lead and Chair the meetings off the established ISH Communications Team in improving all internal communication of the school so that there is standardization, clarity and consistency
  • Ensure that there is a clear internal ‘workflow’ and collation of communication information in place that it is regularly modified and updated so as to meet the needs of the school.
  • Where appropriate liaise with media and handle the requests accordingly.
  • In conjunction with PR, Marketing and Events, oversee in the organising the planning and implementation of events for the school.
  • Oversee all the different channels of communication at the school and ensure that they are being used appropriately.
  • The expectation to bring innovative and new ideas and challenges to improving communication at ISH.

  • Knowledge of Social Media and understanding how to use this in relation to privacy and policy regulations.

The position of Secondary Office Administrative Assistant arises due to both exponential growth of student numbers and re-structuring of the school administration team. The candidate will be part of the Secondary Office Team that is the hub of the Secondary School and reports to the Secondary Office Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Works in collaboration with the Secondary Office team on day-to-day matters pertaining to SOM (Secondary Management System)
  • Assist the Secondary Office team in the day-to-day running of the Secondary calendar
  • Ensures that all administration is correct for trips and tournaments
  • At specific points through the academic year, assist the Communications Team and Athletic Director & MUNISH coordinator in the housing of students at school
