Beatrice Sterna

Beatrice Sterna was born in Italy where she earned a diploma in piano, in Alessandria.

She studied harpsichord with Jacques Ogg at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, obtaining a soloist diploma. As continuo player she performed throughout Europe in chamber music groups (Concerto delle Donne, La Treccha, Les Folichons, the harpsichord trio ’La Scacchiera Armonica’ with C. Leoni and P. Poncet). With the group Quadro Corydon she was also finalist at the ’van Wassenaar Concours’ and she was invited in the late 90's to perform in the season of ’The Young Network for Early Music in Nederland’ and at the Nordic Baroque Music Festival in Nordmaling, Sweden.

Beatrice participated several times as a chamber music teacher and performer in the ’Jerusalem Early Music Workshop’ and in the ’Festival de Musica Antigua e Colonial’ in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, taking part, in 2011, in the recording of a CD.

With Gabriele Wahl she performed a programme of late German sonatas at the International Festival of Early Music ’Gaudete!’ in Varallo Sesia, Italy.
