Mariel Peñaloza Moreno (Guitar)
Born in Mexico, Mariel holds a BA in music (guitar) from the National School of Music of the Independent National Mexican University, where she was professor until 2002.
She holds a BA in guitar as well from the Koninklijke Conservatorium, in Den Haag, and a Masters in Arts - Musicology, from the University of Amsterdam (UvA, 2000-2002), while following the Masters in Image and Sound at the Koninklijk Conservatorium and the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten, in Den Haag.
She has also written ‘The Eternal Spiral. A journey’s logbook’, an ethno-musicological study on a work of guitar music of the twentieth century.
As a performer she is active internationally with a classical (contemporary) repertoire for guitar solo and ensemble, as well as folk music.
She is the founder and director of the cultural forum pm3ge.com, as well as the musical group Tulísh, presenting different multimedia projects with a varied repertoire.
She is nowadays director of the musical didactic project guitar@work, which includes guitar teaching, organization of concerts and guitar music projects.
