René Sommer (Trumpet, Flygelhorn, Cornet, Trombone, Euphonium, French Horn)

René Sommer (1984) born in Odense, Denmark.
He studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague with Jarmo Hoogendijk/Eric Vloeimans & Beatrijs Korevaer/Gertjan Loot and at the Fontys Conservatory with Martijn de Laat/Toon de Gouw and Willem van der Vliet. 

He has also taken several lessons with Lars vissing (Dk), Thomas Fryland ( Dk), John Rocco, Hendrik Jørgensen( Dk), Henrik Hou Jørgensen(Dk), Mads La Cour ( Dk). 

As a performer, René played with the Jazzorchestra of the Concertgebouw ( Benny Golson, Jimmy Heath )  - Tip Toe big band (Dk), the Big Band The Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Southern Denmark (AMDA) and the Royal Conservatory Big Band of The Hague (Brandford Marsalis, Bert Joris, Jim McNeely, Peter Erskine and others) 

 currently working as a brass teacher and as a freelance player in jazz, pop and latin music.
