Harry Cherrin is an American saxophonist, improvisor and composer based in the Netherlands since 2006. Since completing his Master's studies with renowned Dutch saxophonist Arno Bornkamp, he has performed throughout Europe with a variety of projects mixing Classical and Contemporary music. While many of his projects mix free improvisation, electronics, Rock, and Minimalism, his recent focus has been all-Bach solo recitals, which he performed this past season in Amsterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht and Noordlaren. He currently plays with the experimental music duo Sonido 13 (along with clarinetist Jason Alder), which has performed in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland, and has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, dancers, and theatre directors.
In addition to his performing activities, Harry is also a music teacher at the International School of the Hague (ISH), where he is subject curriculum coordinator and director of the ISH Concert Band.
