Students in Years 7 to 11 follow the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). This is a five year programme designed for students aged 11 – 16. The programme is inclusive, student-centred and provides a curriculum that develops students’ knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills across eight subject areas. Students engage in a range of interdisciplinary activities that further develop and support their learning. There is an emphasis on the development of intercultural awareness and understanding. The MYP provides a very good foundation for the IBDP.
The MYP coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation and delivery of the programme. The coordinator maintains communication between the school and the IBO and is responsible for all aspects of course administration.
The coordinator works closely with the Leader for Learning and the Team leaders for Years 7 – 11. The role of coordinator is supported by the Areas of Interaction coordinators.
