Recording session for the IB virtual global conference

In late October, ISH ArtsTeam was approached to submit performance work to be shared at this year’s IB Global Conference, and our music students rose to the challenge!

Whilst the majority of students remained at home for the PTS day on Tuesday, Jazz Band were gathering together in the Glasshouse, suited and booted with a slick, professional look that would have been perfect for a performance in a New York jazz club. Jazz Band recorded ‘Mr Zoot Suit’ with style, tight rhythms and punchy vocals.

The evening was rounded up with a duet from Lana in Year 13 on marimba with Nano, one of our MDMC percussion tutors, on keys. The continual weaving patterns of Bach's 1st Invention in C major BWV 775 echoing through the plaza made for a serene end to the recording session.

Many thanks to Mr Wright for organising such a wonderful opportunity for our students. We look forward to seeing the jazz band featured in our Winter Showcase!
