Year 12 Geography Trip

The Year 12 geographers spent 2 days on the sand dunes by the Sandmotor,

collecting data for their IA.

Despite not getting away on our usual field trip, we were at least lucky enough to have two days of beautiful sunshine to enjoy our local dune environment.

The students worked well together in small groups, meticulously taking measurements of the dune characteristics such as slope angle, pH, vegetation cover and human impact. Some groups brought some music to help keep each other motivated, with one group naming themselves 'Dunes and Tunes' and really getting into gathering some excellent data.

This data will be processed and analysed as part of the geography IA which is worth 25% (SL) and 20% (HL) of their final grade.

Well done to all the students for all of their hard work and thank you to the supervisors for helping out.
