This year, the annual International Festival will take place on the 15th April 2018. It is a wonderful opportunity for ISH to celebrate its cultural diversity, showcase the various national customs and bring together the community.

It's a day filled with music, dance, demonstrations and let's not forget the food! Last year we had 52 amazing countries who treated us to a glimpse into their culture and cuisine.

Does that sound like something for you?

We have a couple of options in which you can participate and be a part of the festivities:

  • Country Coordinator - The lead person for each country to organise the food and table.
  • Country Helpers - These people will be assisting the Country Coordinators for their table.
  • Entertainers and Performers - Do you or your child have a particular talent that they would like to share with the school? There will be several venues that will be around the school to accommodate these performances.
  • Flag Parade - Would your child like to show off his or her country? There will be a parade to honour every nation and we would love to see your child there!
  • National Costume Show - Would you like your child to participate in the National Costume Display Show. A chance to let your national costume shine.

Please know that if you have an interest in any of the above options but may be new to this or a bit shy, the PA Board will be on hand to support you every step of the way.

The PA will be hosting a series of meetings at The Hungry Mind to explain the International Festival in more detail. If you have any questions or are interested, please join us during one of these sessions:

Monday 22 January from 8:30AM - 10AM
Tuesday 23 January from 8:30AM - 10AM
Wednesday 24 January from 8:30AM - 10AM

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
