Drop-off in the morning
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to change the pick-up and drop-off routines for the entire Primary School. Below you will find the arrangements. However, these could change during the year as we get more clarity from the government.
Drop-off in the morning
Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 - time slot 1 - 8:10 to 8:20
Early Years, Early Years 1, Year 2 and Year 3 - time slot 2 - 8:20 to 8:35
The Hungry Mind gate
The Hungry Mind gate is the gate at the back of the school, that can be accessed by walking past the Hungry Mind Community Centre, entrance on Wijndaelerweg. The Hungry Mind gate will be open for Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students every morning from 8:10 to 8:20.
Siblings must be dropped off during the oldest primary child's time slot. All primary children will enter the school through the primary entrance unless they are arriving through the Hungry Mind gate.
Arriving by car
- Option 1 - Drive through Drop off
- Parents should follow the directions of the traffic wardens, security staff and ISH primary staff during these times.
- Children should have all their belongings ready, so that they are able to say goodbye and leave their vehicles promptly.
- Parents should remain in their cars in the drop off zone.
- A temporary entry permit must be displayed in the car windscreen (entry will be denied if there is no entry permit - these will be issued on the first Thursday of the school year)
- Option 2 - Park and Walk
- Older children can be dropped off outside the school campus and walk in by themselves.
- Park your car in the public parking and walk in with your child
Pedestrians
- Walk in, drop off students in front of the Primary building and walk back out (2 way path)
-
If you feel that your child might find it difficult to say goodbye we recommend that you park your car in the public parking and walk your child to the drop off point in front of the primary building.
Bikes
- Enter through the school gates and follow the bike path to the right.
- Parents on bikes should drop students at the front of the Primary school and cycle out, following the one way system.
- Students will park bikes in the Primary bike parking, or if entering through the Hungry Mind gate, bikes can be parked there.
Pick-up in the afternoon
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to change the pick-up and drop-off routines for the entire Primary School. Below you will find the arrangements. However, these could change during the year as we get more clarity from the government.
Pick-up in the afternoon
Early Years, Early Years 1, Year 2 and Year 3 - time slot 1 - 14:45
*Wednesday 12:15
Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 - time slot 2 - 15:00
*Wednesday 12:30
In the afternoon, children will wait to be collected from the Grass Triangle area in front of the school, in their designated year group area. Staff members will be waiting with each group.
Cars will not be allowed to enter the campus for pick-up in the afternoon
Parents collecting by car can park in the car park on Wijndaelerweg or on the roadside on Wijndaelerweg and then walk into school to collect their child/ren.
Bikes
-
Enter through the school gates and follow the bike path to the right and follow the one way system until they reach the year group collection point. Please dismount and walk once you reach the coned area.
Pedestrians
-
Enter through the school gates, then cross towards the appropriate year group collection point. Please stay on the road/path, do not walk across the grass triangle. Children will be sent over to parents from a safe distance.
Gate Pass Students
-
Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 students who are leaving the campus alone with a gate pass, may choose to go out through the main Primary Entrance OR through the Hungry Mind gate. Students using their gate passes are expected to leave school directly. Playing or meeting on the Astro turf is not allowed. The Hungry Mind gate will be open 15:00 - 15:10.
Some things to remember:
- To maintain the 1.5m social distance from all other adults at all times.
- Only 1 adult per family will be allowed on campus to pick up children.
- Please be considerate of others when you park your car. Ensure that you are not blocking the flow of traffic and allow sufficient space for pedestrians and bikes to pass safely.
- Please leave the parking area as soon as you have picked up your child/children so that other parents have a place to park their cars.
- Ensure that you indicate to the teacher on duty that you have your child before you leave.
- Please arrive in your assigned time slot. Your child/children will not be ready for you if you arrive earlier.
-
In case of rain, we do not have the possibility to dismiss children from inside the building. Please ensure that your child/children has/have a raincoat at school, or in their school bags every day.
