COVID-19 Protocol for the Return to ISH Secondary after the summer vacation

Introduction


ISH SecLT has developed this protocol for the secondary campus and trips from the protocols and advice of the following organisations:

Secondary Campus Guidelines for Secondary Parents
 

  • All parents must follow the Covid-19 Health and Illness Protocol 
  • Parents are allowed on campus by invitation only, with most meetings occuring online where possible, or outside peak occupation times for the building. 
  • Keep a minimum of 1.5 metres distance from all adults and students, except your own children.
  • Please wear a facemask on entry into the building, during the transition to and from rooms, when in corridors, when waiting in lines and when 1.5 metre social distancing is not possible.
  • Hands must be washed with disinfectant on entry to and exit from rooms
  • Tables that adults use must be cleaned with disinfectant before and after use and wiped with towels. These must then go into the bin. 
  • Cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow
  • Do not touch your face.
  • Do not shake hands.

Guidelines for Secondary Students

  • All students must follow the Covid-19 Health and Illness Protocol 
  • All students must wear a facemask on entry into the building, during the transition to and from lessons, when in corridors and when waiting in lines, such as in the cafeteria or to go into a DT or Art workroom or Science Laboratory. Students with preexisting medical conditions may be exempt with approval from the Health Office.
  • Face shields and gloves may be are optional.
  • Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 metres away from adults.
  • On arrival at school, go straight to your classroom or study area.
  • Follow the one way system around school
  • To avoid waiting in corridors, you may enter a classroom and sit down, without an adult being present (this does NOT apply to DT, Art or Science Laboratories).
  • Hands must be washed with disinfectant on entry to and exit from rooms

  • Try not to touch your face.
  • If a teacher is in quarantine, you will still go to the same classroom at the same time, where you will be taught online. There will also be a cover teacher present for support. Please ensure that your device is fully charged and that you bring headphones. 
  • During breaktimes, you may stay in a classroom, except an adult must be present if you are in a laboratory, Art or DT workroom. As always, we need to show responsible, respectful and safe behaviour.
  • PHE changing rooms are open again, but to avoid congestion please feel free to come to school in your PHE clothes. 
  • If you do not have a co-curricular activity after school, you must go home after your last lesson.
  • Where possible, avoid the use of public transport. 
  • The library, cafeteria and bookshop will be reopened with health and hygiene precautions in place.
  • If an emergency evacuation or lockdown is required, please follow the normal protocols.
  • Student lockers will not be used for the time being. Musical instruments may still be stored in the music storage facilities.
