Welcome to the Secondary Parents Association (PA) of the International School of The Hague (ISH).

OUR VISION

To build a strong foundation supporting the ISH educational experience through true collaboration with its community.

OUR MISSION

The Secondary Parents Association (PA) is a non-profit, volunteer entity whose mission is to enhance the ISH experience for our students and their families. Our goal is to successfully engage parents and treat the students, cultivate positive collaborations, foster diversity to maintain an inclusive educational experience, while providing a transparent forum for an exchange of ideas among the management, teachers and parents of the ISH.

All parent/legal guardians of an ISH student are automatically a member of the PA.

OUR BOARD

We work closely with Secondary staff and assist with the organisation of many events.  We also work with other parents’ groups like the Connectors and the Year Representatives to stay informed about what’s happening at ISH.
The Secondary PA Board is always happy to welcome new parents volunteers. If you are interested or have questions or ideas, please feel free to contact us at any time with any inquiry via the Secondary PA e-mail ish.pa@ishthehague.nl.

Building a sense of community

The PA helps to build and support the ISH community by welcoming new families and helping them get settled and thrive in the Netherlands. Please come along to the PA’s

coffee mornings. They are regular focal points for our school communities that provide a relaxed atmosphere to meet other parents, build friendships, ask any questions you may have.  ALL parents are welcome.

We also sweeten the student life at ISH in various ways and run the concession stand at sports and arts events.

Who are the parent representatives?

The Year Representatives play a key role in connecting the views of the parent body for their year group with school leaders so that we are able to keep each other well informed and to collaborate on the key issues affecting our community. As facilitators of communication between the parent community and the school, the reps will seek parents input on several occasions during the year in preparation for their Year Reps Meeting with the Senior Leadership Team, where they discuss views/issues parents would like to share with the school.

Parents are always welcomed to share their concerns, unprompted, with their reps at any other time throughout the year.

The ISH Bookstore

Run by a team of parent volunteers, the ISH Bookstore provides students and staff with a convenient location where they can buy, on-site, stationery and other school supplies at affordable prices. It is a not-for-profit entity operating within the school premises. Profits deriving from our sales are reinvested in our school community to cater to specific needs.
