How do I get settled in The Hague?

The Hague International Centre (THIC)

THIC is  the first point of contact for (new) residents of the city of The Hague. The office is located at Den Haag City Hall and provides a welcome packet for new arrivals. 

They can help you with most of the services you need to settle into The Netherlands and work together closely with international companies in The Hague. 

  • Registration with the municipality
  • Getting your citizen service number (BSN)
  • Residence permits

They also organise a variety of events that you will find on our calendar.

ACCESS

ACCESS has fantastic resources to explain the Dutch healthcare system. It is one of the best systems in the world, but it can be a little difficult to navigate. gives you insight into the culture of seeing doctors, which allows you to be more confident when seeing a medical professional. The work closely together with THIC, and are located in the same office at City Hall in the centre of The Hague.
