I truly feel at home here, unlike any other place I have lived. It's easy to get around. I love riding the "bakfiets" with my kids. It's comforting to know that I can make myself understood in English when I need to.

The Netherlands

The Netherlands is a wonderful place to live and work - a clean, safe and open-minded country. With strong investment in infrastructure, health care, social services and the education system are among the best in the world.

The Hague

Our school is situated in Den Haag, also known as The Hague. It is regarded as the International City of Peace and Justice and is home to a number of embassies and international organisations.

A 25 minute tram ride from the school takes you to The Hague city centre with its cobblestone streets, the houses of parliament, numerous cafes, restaurants and more.

Public Transport

Aside from the impressive network of cycle lanes, The Hague is also well connected by bus and tram. The areas around the school provide the school community with a number of great places all well connected to the city centre.

All buses and trams use OV-Chipkaart and there is a machine to scan your card to get on and off.

Cycling Culture

Like the whole of The Netherlands, The Hague makes getting around by bicycle very easy. Motorists tend to be considerate of cyclists and most roads have a separate bike path. The Dutch do not usually wear protective helmets but the culture is shifting to it being more acceptable to wear a helmet, especially for children.

Kijkduin

The school itself is situated in the seaside quarter of Kijkduin. In just a short walk you are on the beach or the surrounding dunes. This area of natural beauty provides trails all the way from Scheveningen port to Hook of Holland.

For those who love sea sports, The Hague provides opportunities for surfing, kite-surfing, sailing, and more.
