Big Cat Day 2018 - a great day!

The Primary student initiated Big Cat Day on Thursday 29th March was a roaring success!

It was a real team effort:
  • decorating the Glasshouse
  • providing cat themed snacks for our tuck shop
  • coming up with cat themed ideas for lessons and
  • learning a lion song in three parts!

Many students came to school on the day dressed up as one of the endangered big cats and had their face-painted (thanks to an army of Secondary artists!). They also came home a little lighter, having spent pocket money at the tuck shop. They learnt more about big cats from a fascinating documentary and sang their hearts out during the whole school assembly that celebrated the success of the day.

They raised a whopping 1,184.75 for the Ruaha Carnivore Project. Dr. Amy Dickman could not be present but sent us a 'thank you' video message and we look forward to finding out exactly our funds will help with the conservation of big cats and supporting communities in Tanzania.
