Flag Football Success

After dominating the Regional Flag Football Tournament, all three ISH Silverbacks Flag Football teams advanced to the National Flag Football Tournament, which was held in Utrecht this year on Saturday 16 June 2018.

All three teams played great, showed a lot of character and resilience ... and each player contributed. The U15 team battled greatly but regrettably came up just short this time around. A great foundation has been built for the future as all but one of the players were actually still eligible to play in the U13 competition.

The ISH2 U18 team kept on rolling and with some gritty performances managed to win their group. We were hoping for another all ISH final, but injuries started to mount up as the competition hardened and the team just missed out in both the semi-finals and the 3rd/4th place game. 4th place was a great result, but the team deserved a bit more.

The ISH1 U18 team was certainly challenged, but they played a disciplined game on both sides of the ball and won all of their group games, the semi-finals and the finals. All the players made key contributions and were crowned National Champions. First time ever for ISH in the U18 category!!!

Congratulations to all students involved and to Mr Verloop for his dedication and leadership. Mr Verloop is very proud of all the teams and players - great job!

Can the Silverbacks win back to back in 2019??

Go Silverbacks!!!
