500 students from Years 8-12 took part in the Walk of Hope on Friday 21st September, walking from ISH to the Peace Palace to mark the International Day of Peace.
Their aim was to advocate for the oneness of humanity, spreading the words of peace, unity and love amongst our community. Over 1500 students participated in the event representing 7 schools, both Dutch and international. The event was supported by lessons conducted by Year 12 as well as a Youth Conference on the following Wednesday which was beautifully run by Bhavika Adapa and Boaz van der Schaaf of Year 12 along with former students Krister Palo and Femke Gunneweg.
In addition, we raised funds for the Satsang Foundation which was set up by the Walk's founder, Sri M, to provide quality education for rural children in India. As a school, we raised over €3000 with mentor group 8I raising €576.41 alone! This will provide the kind of opportunities our students have to over 17 children for a year. Well done all - it was a special day!
