Last week, the Varsity Teams traveled to various countries in Europe to compete in the annual International School Sports Tournament (ISST). This year, the ISST celebrated its 50th Anniversary, making this year's tournament a little more special. The ISH participated in five different tournaments across four countries and for the first time ever, we hosted the Boys Division 1 Football Tournament, and the energy was at an all-time high.
Unfortunately, the boys did not have the fairytale ending they had hoped for but they certainly came close. They lost to the American School of Cobham in the semifinals, thus finishing in 4th place.
The traveling teams all represented ISH to the highest level and they displayed outstanding performances. The Hockey Girls showed their strength once again, and they came close to upsetting the BSN, but lost in the final, thus finishing in 2nd place.
The second Varsity Boys Football team participated in Division 3 ISST competition at ASH, and came home with a WIN, by beating ASH during the penalty shootout in the final, so CONGRATULATIONS to them!
The Varsity Boys Volleyball Team made history by participating in their FIRST ISST Tournament in London. They shocked the participating schools with their performance and they enjoyed themselves whilst in London. They fell short of the top four, thus finishing in 5th place.
The Varsity Girls Football Team made history by becoming CHAMPIONS of the ISST Division 2 tournament in Vienna. They put on an outstanding performance, especially during their final game, where they defeated St John's International School 2-1. The team has now been promoted to Division 1 and we couldn't be more proud so CONGRATULATIONS girls.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone who helped out last week and supported the Silverback. We truly couldn't have done it without you and congratulations to all the players who competed in this year's ISST tournament.
