Towards the end of April, the Year 10 Geographers traveled to four different farms in The Hague area as part of their unit based around finding solutions to feed a hungry planet. These included an intensive tomato farm, an urban farm using vertical solutions and permaculture.

The students were able to experience much of the produce including a take-home microgreens kit. Their main focus was comparing the systems of agriculture to understand which aspects are circular and how sustainable these processes are; including the use of technical innovation. Students were also given the opportunity to ask a number of questions to the farmers. They thoroughly enjoyed this experience and they have lots of valuable material to complete their assessment.
