This morning, 10 May, was the official opening of our new Primary Wing by Deputy Mayor of The Hague, Saskia Bruines. She came to cut the ribbon to mark the occasion of taking the light, spacious, lovely building into use. This festive occasion was made all the more festive by the performances of our very own Primary Choir. Juliette van Eerdwijk gave an impassioned speech about the project, which, though it came with its ups and downs, was definitely worth the wait.
It was an honour for us to have the Deputy Mayor to open the new building, because in addition to her role, she is also the Alderman for Education, and this event was close to her heart.
The Primary Choir performed two fantastic songs, that really captured the mood. The second song they performed, Good Morning Baltimore, was from “Hairspray”, the musical they are putting on at the end of June. If anyone was hesitating to attend this event, this performance will convince you. It was amazing!
