Magic MathWorks Traveling Circus

Dear ISH community,

From the 6th of May until the 10th of May the Magic MathWorks Traveling Circus, organized by Mr Paul Stephenson, visited our school. All the year 5s, 6s and 7s students participated in the event in their math classes and learned about expanding their math knowledge through hands-on activities and therefore being able to utilize this style of learning and creative thinking to solve problems.

The circus was also presented to the year 12 students who were introduced to the exhibition as part of their Theory of Knowledge (TOK) program. The IB students had just begun their Mathematics unit in TOK and the exhibition inspired them for the unit by providing them with other, simpler, and intriguing perspective to maths.

Lastly, on Wednesday the 8th of May, the events were dedicated to the parents and students in y5, y6 and y7. There was a good turnout in support of their children. We'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the activity and took the time to come and visit the exhibition.

Thank you!

Sara, Kate, and Mr Andreadis
