London Rugby 7's Tounament
Posted 14/02/2020 16:32

The Silverbacks Varsity Rugby Team competed in their second 7's tournament in the UK, hosted by American School of London (ASL). The competition was strong and it was a great opportunity for the team to play in this type of tournament as they prepare for the ISST Championships next month.

Six schools were involved. The Silverbacks got off to a slow start but won both group games, beating ASL 12-10 and BSB 17-15. In the semi-final, the Silverbacks played TASIS from London and won 24-5. This set up an exciting final against Rugby specialists, ACS Cobham.

ISH started off very well, matching Cobham in every area of the game. Some excellent rugby was displayed by both teams however, a few costly errors and injuries saw the Silverbacks lose momentum and Cobham started to pull away. A last try saw ISH get back into the game but there was not enough time for ISH to reach Cobham. The Silverbacks went down 19-33 in the end to a strong Cobham Team and took home 2nd place.

Congratulations to all involved. The coaches are super happy and are looking forward to the final preparations for the end of season tournament. We will see Cobham again!!!

Great job Silverbacks!!
