The ISH parent community is an active community, and parents are involved with many different activities both inside and outside the school. For more information regarding our Primary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and Secondary Parents Association (PA) and other parental groups please look below.
About the Primary Parent Teacher Association, PTA
We welcome all ISH primary parents/guardians of students and current staff as PTA members.
Your PTA Board is a small but enthusiastic band of volunteer parents tasked with representing the interests of parents (and their children), acting as liaison between parents and the school administration (when appropriate), organising fun events and fundraising.
A new PTA Board has been elected for the school year 2018-2019, with the following members:
- Class Representatives Co-ordinators
- Media and Communications
- External Fundraising Co-ordinator
The PTA Board works hard to establish a positive connection between the parents, teachers and the students. The Board also organizes the annual Halloween party, staff appreciation lunch and summer fair, along with several other fundraising events throughout the year. We are always looking for volunteers to contribute towards these aims. So if you would be interested, or would like more information about upcoming meetings, or if you have questions or comments, please email us at email@example.com
Please also check out our blog within the login portal. There, you will find our most current newsletters and other information about upcoming events and PTA business.
About the Secondary Parents Association, PA
All parents or guardians of ISH secondary students are members of the PA. The PA Board is a group of a few parents who have been elected to represent different aspects of school life and to reinforce the link between the parents/guardians and the school. This includes the bookstore, community events, Year Representatives, interaction with the parent members of the MR (Participation Council) and meetings with PA's of other Dutch international Schools IPSSG. The PA Board works hard to support the parents/guardians and the school to ensure a sound personal and academic school life for our students.

As can be read in the testimonials – from staff, parents and students – the community at ISH is warm and welcoming. While much of this is intrinsic to people who travel from many places, and gather in one, ISH also works hard to ensure all feel welcome from day one. Since 2011 ISH has done this through the Parent Connector group.
Made up of parents who have been here a little longer, new families are connected to others who share their culture and or language. New families therefore have someone to help them settle and find their way, around the school and the city. There are welcome afternoons, coffee mornings, activities and someone to call to ensure your transition to ISH is as smooth, and welcoming as possible.
When you register your child at the school, your permission will be asked to share your contact details with a Parent Connector so that you may be connected to YOUR Parent Connector.
