On 18 September, the Theatre department piloted a new event to ISH - A Play in a Day!
Year 9 and 11 students opted to participate in this day, and were given the opportunity to explore and train in a specific theatre role, and collaborate to create and perform a play in a day!
Our experienced group leaders trained over 30 students as performers; lighting, sound, costume and set designers and even as videographers and managed to successfully rehearse and put together a performance of "I, Chorus" to a public audience of students and parents.
It was great to have students off timetable to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of live performance as well as develop a whole new set of skills. The atmosphere throughout the day was inspiring and very creative. To quote one of the students involved, "it taught me a lot about teamwork and working with others, as well as being open-minded to dozens of different ideas, because we had so many people to work with."
